IMF sponsors projects and organizations in various areas of medicine, mainly in the following categories:

Medical care that is too costly and will not be provided by socialized medicine through Israel’s Ministry of Health.
Medical care that is overlooked and orphaned and will eventually be able to be supported by Ministry of Health or other government agencies.
Organizations researching cures for medical conditions with high prevalence in Israel’s population.
Projects providing life-changing experiences to chronically ill and/or disabled children.

The Next Step

The Next Step, established by the IMF in 2015, is an Israeli non-profit organization that aides and supports adults and children suffering limb-loss and prosthetics users, by providing high-end prosthetics not accessible through Ministry of Health, and technical and emotional support via various programs focusing on different levels of amputation.

Sfat Halev

Sfat Halev, established in 2014 by IMF, is an Israeli non-profit organization that raises awareness about cleft lip and palate, while providing technical and emotional support and assistance to families with children born with clefts. The organization’s services are mainly operated volunteers – parents of children born with clefts who wish to pass on their knowledge and experience and provide support to additional families. The organization also distributes kits with special feeding gear to cleft-effected babies, enlists our professional team of volunteer doctors to speak at conferences to educate medical personnel, and more.

Kids of Courage

Since 2013, IMF sponsors the Kids of Courage – Israel Division, a group of tens of ill and disabled children from Israel, their counselors and medical staff, that join the Kids of Courage Summer Adventure Camp. The Kids of Courage Summer Adventure Camp is a dream come true. Every day many sick kids dream about a chance to disconnect from their daily struggles. They want to experience freedom and adventure like every child. It seems like an impossible dream, because many of them cannot travel without special medical supervision or without oxygen or special equipment. The Kids of Courage Summer Adventure Camp makes this dream come true!

Dr. Stuart Greenstein
Director, Abdominal Transplant Program at Montefiore Medical Center

Stuart Greenstein, MD, graduated Summa Cum Laude from Brooklyn College of CUNY, and earned a medical degree at Harvard Medical School in Boston, Massachusetts. Dr. Greenstein is board certified by the American Board of General Surgery, and is a UNOS certified transplant surgeon who has been a dedicated senior member of the Montefiore Medical Center Kidney Transplant Program for more than 20 years, and a Professor of Surgery at Einstein Medical School. Dr. Greenstein is a member of more than twenty medical societies, has served on the American Society of Transplant Surgery Ethics Committee and Standards on Organ Procurement Committee, and the NKF Medical Advisory Board. He chaired the Organ Availability Committee of the United Network for Organ Sharing as well as co-chaired the ad hoc Committee on Public Solicitation. He has been an active member of the Kidney Pancreas Transplant Committee of UNOS. He currently serves on the Editorial Board of Transplantation. Dr. Greenstein has been the principle investigator in more than twenty trials and has written numerous articles on kidney transplantation.

Dr. Ariela Nachmani
Coordinator, Cleft Lip and Palate Program at Meir Medical Center

Ariela Nachmani, PhD, is a Speech Pathologist, and is the coordinator of the center for Cleft Lip and Palate and Craniofacial Anomalies at Meir Medical Center, offering knowledge and experience of over 30 years in impaired speech and swallowing disorders. Dr. Nachmani is published internationally and has many years of experience training and guiding parents and students, speech therapists and doctors in the field of Cleft Lip and Palate.

Michael Rayer, CP
Partner, Prothetic Innovations LLC

Michael Rayer is a experienced prosthetist who brings his extensive automation and mechanical engineering background to upper extremity prosthetics. He is committed to improving current prosthetic designs and refining industry techniques. Mike graduated from the University of Virginia in 1993 where he earned a degree in Mechanical Engineering. He completed his graduate education at the University of Connecticut Medical School and Newington Children’s Hospital and has been certified by the American Board of Certification in Prosthetics and Orthotics since 2002. In 2015, Mike was named to the National Association for the Advancement of Orthotics and Prosthetics (NAAOP) Board of Directors. The NAAOP is dedicated to educating the public and promoting public policy that is in the interest of the O&P patient.

Dr. Lior Rosenberg
Chief, Plastic Surgery at Soroka University Medical Center

Lior Rosenberg, M.D, serves as the Chief of the Department of Plastic Surgery at Soroka University Medical Center in Beer Sheva, heads the unit for Cleft Lip Palate & Craniofacial deformities at Meir Medical Center, Kfar Saba. He serves as a Professor of Medicine at the Ben-Gurion University Medical School in Beer Sheva. He has published numerous peer reviewed papers, and has given hundreds of presentations relating to plastic surgery, craniofacial anomalies and products of MediWound Ltd; a company which he co-founded and has also been its Chief Medical Technology Officer since 2001, which develops products in the field of burns and wound care .

Dr. Dror Aizenbud
Chairman of the Orthodontic and Craniofacial Department at Rambam

Dror Aizenbud, MD server as the Chairman of the Orthodontic and Craniofacial Department and the deputy director of the School of Graduate Dentistry, Rambam Health Care Campus and Technion – Faculty of Medicine in Haifa, Israel. He is the president of the IADR Israeli Division. He honored with a visiting professor nomination at the Craniofacial Anomalies Center at Stanford University Hospital. Dr. Aizenbud holds a Master of Science degree, a degree in dentistry and a certificate in orthodontics, both from the Hebrew University and Hadassah School of Dental Medicine in Jerusalem. He was a fellow at the Craniofacial Center at the University of Illinois at Chicago with the group of Dr. Figueroa and Dr. Polly. Dr.. Aizenbud’s Oral Biology Research Lab in the Faculty of Medicine, Technion is focused on craniofacial anomalies, biology of tooth movement, craniofacial distraction osteogenesis, dentofacial orthopedics, Obstructive Sleep Apnea and adult interdisciplinary treatment. His main clinical interest is the combined orthodontic-surgical treatment of dental and skeletal malocclusions and anomalies. Dr.. Aizenbud has published over 200 original research and clinical papers in refereed journals, including contributions in several monographs and textbooks.
